More Than a Dip: 7 Delicious Ways to Use Ciampo Cooks Buffalo Chicken Dip
Anthony CiampoShare
Here's something most people don't know about our Ciampo Cooks Buffalo Chicken Dip:
It wasn't originally created to be a dip.
It was created as the stuffing for one of our stuffed portabello mushrooms.
And honestly, that's one of the things we love most about food at Ciampo Cooks.
Sometimes a recipe has a way of becoming something bigger than you originally intended.
A customer tried our stuffed portabello mushroom and loved the stuffing so much that they asked a simple question:
"Would you ever sell the stuffing?"
Well...
Easy decision.
Instead of stuffing a mushroom, we took that same delicious Buffalo chicken mixture and simply pressed it into a container with a spatula.
And just like that, our Buffalo Chicken Dip was born.
But then we started thinking.
If it's a mushroom stuffing...
And it's a dip...
Hmmm.
What else can we do with it?
As it turns out...
Quite a lot.
1. Buffalo Chicken Dip
Let's start with the obvious.
Serve it warm with crackers, tortilla chips, toasted bread, vegetables, or whatever you like to dip.
It's perfect for parties, entertaining, tailgating and game day.
But don't stop there.
The real magic is what happens when you start treating this product as an ingredient instead of just a dip.
2. Stuffed Portabello Mushrooms
This is where the whole thing started.
Take a large portabello mushroom, clean it, and remove the stem.
Fill the mushroom generously with Ciampo Cooks Buffalo Chicken Dip.
Bake until the mushroom is tender and the filling is hot and bubbling.
You can even top it with additional cheese before baking.
What started as our original stuffed mushroom recipe is now something you can recreate at home without having to make the stuffing from scratch.
One container. Restaurant-style stuffed mushrooms.
3. Buffalo Chicken Pizza or Flatbread
Pizza night just got a lot more interesting.
Spread Buffalo Chicken Dip over your favorite pizza dough or flatbread.
Add your favorite cheese and bake until everything is hot, bubbly and golden.
You can keep it simple or start building your own combination.
Try:
- Diced celery
- Carrots
- Spinach
- Bacon
- Extra chicken
- Mozzarella
- Monterey Jack
- Cheddar
- Blue cheese
And if you like your Buffalo chicken with a little extra kick, finish it with your favorite hot sauce.
Buffalo chicken pizza doesn't need complicated ingredients.
The dip does most of the work.
4. Buffalo Chicken Canapés
Need an easy appetizer for a party?
Turn it into a canapé.
Spread the Buffalo Chicken Dip onto toasted baguette slices, crackers, crostini, or your favorite small appetizer base.
Add a little blue cheese.
Maybe a small drizzle of Buffalo sauce.
Maybe some diced celery for crunch.
Now you've got an appetizer that looks like you spent much more time making it than you actually did.
That's our kind of entertaining.
5. Buffalo Chicken Stuffed Croissants
Here's one that might surprise you.
Grab a tube of refrigerated crescent roll dough.
Separate the dough into triangles.
Add some Buffalo Chicken Dip.
Roll them up.
Bake according to the dough instructions until golden brown.
What comes out is a warm, buttery, savory Buffalo chicken stuffed croissant.
And this is where you can really start having fun.
Try adding:
Bacon + Buffalo Chicken Dip
Spinach + Buffalo Chicken Dip
Cheddar + Buffalo Chicken Dip
Or even a little blue cheese before rolling.
The possibilities are almost endless.
6. Buffalo Chicken Pasta
Now we're getting into dinner territory.
Here's a simple trick.
Put your Buffalo Chicken Dip into a sauté pan over low to medium heat.
Add a small amount of chicken broth and stir until the mixture loosens into a creamy sauce.
Then toss in your favorite cooked pasta.
That's it.
You've just turned a dip into a creamy Buffalo chicken pasta.
Want to make it your own?
Add:
- Diced bacon
- Spinach
- Diced celery
- Diced carrots
- Broccoli
- Extra grilled chicken
- Blue cheese
- Parmesan
- Your favorite hot sauce
You be the chef.
The Buffalo Chicken Dip is simply your starting point.
7. Buffalo Chicken Pasta Bake
Want to take that pasta one step further?
Make a casserole.
Combine your favorite cooked cold pasta with Buffalo Chicken Dip in a large mixing bowl.
Add whatever ingredients you like.
Bacon?
Absolutely.
Spinach?
Go for it.
Celery and carrots?
Why not?
A little blue cheese dressing?
Now you're thinking.
Mix everything together and layer it into your favorite casserole dish.
Top with additional cheese and bake until hot and bubbling.
You've just taken a container of Buffalo Chicken Dip and turned it into a completely different meal.
And Then We Made Buffalo Chicken Chowder
This one happened yesterday.
And it might be one of our favorite discoveries yet.
I started by sweating onions, celery and carrots in a saucepan with a healthy pat of butter.
Once the vegetables were softened, I added a full quart of Ciampo Cooks Buffalo Chicken Dip.
Then I added a quart of my favorite chicken stock.
Stir it together and let everything come together over heat.
Then came the Buffalo chicken chowder toppings.
A little crumbled blue cheese.
A swirl of blue cheese dressing.
And another swirl of your favorite hot sauce.
Stir it together.
Then let the chowder reduce until it's approximately a half-inch below your original level in the saucepan.
You can serve it as-is for a creamy Buffalo chicken chowder.
Or, if you'd like it thicker, make a quick cornstarch slurry by whisking cornstarch with cold water.
Add it gradually while the soup is hot and give it time to thicken.
Don't rush this part.
Cornstarch needs sufficient heat to activate and thicken properly, so give it time rather than immediately adding more.
Taste.
Adjust.
Make it yours.
The Game-Day Ingredient You Didn't Know You Needed
Football season is here.
Hockey and basketball are right around the corner.
That means it's officially game-day food season.
And this is where we think the Ciampo Cooks Buffalo Chicken Dip really shines.
Because you don't have to decide what you're going to make before you buy it.
You can put it out as a dip.
Stuff mushrooms.
Make pizza.
Build canapés.
Stuff croissants.
Make pasta.
Bake a casserole.
Or turn it into Buffalo chicken chowder.
And those are just the ideas we've tried.
Maybe Buy Two Quarts
Here's our challenge:
Buy one container and experiment.
Then...
Maybe try two.
One for the party.
One for whatever crazy recipe you come up with next.
Because that's really what this product is about.
We're giving you the foundation.
You be the chef.
Add your favorite vegetables.
Add bacon.
Add cheese.
Add blue cheese dressing.
Add hot sauce.
Thin it out.
Bake it.
Stuff it.
Spread it.
Turn it into something completely different.
The recipe doesn't have to end where ours does.
That's the fun.
